Palm oil refining purpose is to remove impurities, refined edible oil to achieve the standards.
The main flow of the process: crude oil – degumming – deacidification – decolorization – deodorization – fractionation.
Plus water of degumming, alkali neutralization or steam distillation deacidification, plus activated clay or active carbon adsorbent, high temperature vacuum deodorizer fumes while removing low boiling volatiles.
Refining of palm kernel crude oil requires only degumming – deacidification – decolorization – deodorization, does not require fractionation. Because palm kernel oil contains high wool content of saturated fatty acids, with little liquid oil. Use of palm kernel oil is the production of soap and plastic plasticizer.
